Domain Registration Agreement
These terms apply specifically to domain registration, DNS setup, renewals, registrant information, and registrar/registry requirements.
Registrar and registry rules
Domain registrations are provided through registrar and registry partners. OpenSRS/Tucows, ICANN, Nominet, and individual registry policies may apply depending on the TLD.
By ordering a domain, you agree that these third-party policies may control eligibility, registration, renewal, transfer, suspension, dispute handling, and registrant data requirements.
Accurate registrant details
You must provide accurate registrant contact information and keep it up to date. Incorrect registrant information can lead to verification issues, suspension, failed transfer, or loss of domain control.
Some TLDs require extra fields such as legal type, company number, local presence, or identity information.
Availability and premium names
Search results are not a guarantee of registration. A domain can become unavailable, premium-priced, reserved, restricted, or rejected before the registrar completes the order.
If a paid order cannot be registered, CloudForge HQ will place the order under review and contact you.
DNS and nameservers
CloudForge HQ may create a DNS zone and default records before registration. The default nameservers may point to DigitalOcean or another DNS provider selected for the service.
Changing nameservers or DNS records can affect websites, email, SSL validation, and third-party services. Customers should request support if unsure.
Renewals and expiry
Domains expire if not renewed. Customer auto-renew billing is optional and can be cancelled before billing. A successful payment must still be matched with a successful registrar renewal.
If renewal payment fails, or registrar renewal fails, the domain may enter expiry, grace, redemption, or deletion periods controlled by the registry.
Transfers, disputes, and abuse
Domain transfers are not fully automated yet and may require support assistance. Transfer locks, verification, registry rules, or disputes can delay or prevent transfer.
Domains may be suspended, locked, transferred, or otherwise affected by abuse reports, court orders, registry policy, registrar policy, or dispute-resolution proceedings.
Live registration guard
CloudForge HQ includes a technical guard that blocks live OpenSRS registration unless live mode and explicit live approval are both enabled. Test modes may create DNS and dashboard records without registering a real domain.
This safeguard is intended to prevent accidental live registrar orders during testing.
